  • Hands down the best aquarium I've ever visited. It's organized in such a way as to make the visit simple, informative and fun. The escalator at the entrance will bring you to the top, from which a path circles back to the bottom, revealing the main tank in the centre after only a few turns. That tank is the highlight of the exhibit, not only because of the two whale sharks that majestically grace its water, but also for the appeal of the many other species of fish, rays and smaller sharks. The end brings you to a separate area where you can touch some sharks and rays back's, gently... and the requisite souvenir shop. All in all, fun for kids and adults as well. One last thing, visiting on a Friday evening, we found the place relatively quiet. A bonus in a populated city like Osaka, even if it was a rainy evening conducive to indoor activities!
  • An awesome place to go. Highly recommended. This is by far the best aquarium I have been in. It has a lot of sharks variants, and even allowed you to touch the sharks (in a safe zone area). Penguins, turtles, sting rays, mantas, whale shark, and many more sea creatures are there for you to sight see. Jelly fish arena was amazing. Kaiyukan did such a great job maintaining the fishes in an environment that is kept in high quality. Excellent job!
  • We've been to several aquariums and our family love this. It's not too big and overwhelming but still exciting. There are a lot of interesting collections such as whale shark, smiley face seal, penguins and giant crabs. My toddler loves it very much. I'm really impressed with the jellyfish collection because it was WONDERFUL, mysterious and beautiful at the same time. I've never seen such collection before. Surely it's kids friendly, baby stroller friendly and the ambiance is calming inside. Children will surely love the souvenir shop! Recommended for family!
  • Visited Kaiyukan on November 2017, reached that place at almost 4 pm.. really an awesome aquarium. So many various of aquatic animals can be found there. Not just the giant fish species but also met ‘Nemo and Dory’.. little fish with beautiful color; spider crabs which never seen before; the ugly face fish but cute one.. and many many others.. Four hours ran so fast and at 8 pm the aquarium was closed. Overall visited was very satisfied with little hope..visit this place again some day with more family members and friends.
  • Aquarium tickets are sort of pricey. We went in the afternoon and the first few exhibits were super crowded. The further you go, the less crowded it gets. A lot of exhibits have multifloor tanks, so you might be able to see things below too. You start at the top of the aquarium building and make your way down in a spiral. There's a giant tank in the middle that you walk around. It had whale sharks, big stingrays, and other sharks/fish. It was probably too small of a tank for how big the whale sharks are, but they still had room to swim around. The seals were really cute, we caught one of their feeding/show times and it was neat to watch them do tricks. There's also a petting/touching area at the end of the aquarium where you can touch stingrays and sharks carefully.
