Tokyo DisneySea, Urayasu

4.3
An original Japanese addition to Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea features nautically themed attractions, rides, and shows inspired by myths of the sea. The park contains seven different areas: Mermaid Lagoon, American Waterfront, Lost River Delta, Port Discovery, Arabian Coast, Mediterranean Harbor, and Mysterious Island. Check out the Venetian gondolas, an underwater world out of the imagination of the science fiction writer Jules Verne, and the S.S. Columbia steamship. Unlike its neighboring Disneyland, this park contains higher quality dining options where guests can order alcoholic beverages. Put Tokyo DisneySea into our Urayasu trip builder tool and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • Winter travel to the Disney Ocean advice to keep warm, coats and defensive cold towels and other recommendations to wear, we travel at a temperature of 7 degrees, and after nightfall, the sea winds in the Gulf of China still feel cold, and if a tropical tourist may not be comfortable with low temperature advice, keep warm!

  • Attention to detail is amazing. The crew is incredibly nice. Everyone is in a happy mood and generally people are very nice. Just bring a desire to have fun and some preparation on how to and what to see! Food is not bad but can be a little costly and ice cream and coffee options are limited so bring some lunch to eat outside the park or a willingness to accept whatever is there. It is actually fun to try all the different foods as well!
  • One of my most favourite places in Tokyo! Most of the rides are great. Love tower of terror and mermaid theatre. Food is expensive and doesn't taste good. Staff are super nice and helpful. They take great photos too!! To avoid the crowd, choose weekday and go early in the morning. Download disneysea app to check the queue time for each ride. And use your fast pass tickets wisely.
  • Every inch of this Disney property was well-thought of. It is an amazing, man-made structure. All corners are picture-worthy too! While there are park employees, who speak well in English, there are still those, who are challenged in conversing with English-speaking tourists. They are generally pleasant, too. It will make kids and kids-at-heart ecstatic.
  • What an awesome place to be! It was Halloween season theme. It doesn't matter what age genders or nationality. Everyone here was dress up in some costumes or each group of friends had their matching theme or couples look a like. Everyone here apparently carries a backpack. We came on a weekday and this place was super busy. It doesn't matter if you come on a weekend or weekday you will be standing in line. Unless you get here the moment they open the doors and grab that fast pass. They have popcorn character buckets that is the cutest thing I've seen. You can buy the bucket and get different interesting flavor popcorn refills for 5000yen. Each popcorn stand scattered throughout the park has different flavors and different character bag to chose. Every where you go they're lines for food, photography with characters or picture places. If you see a line it must be good.
  • Impressive array of rides and spectacular performances! Ride intensity 7/10 Ride quality 9/10 Download the app to check queue times and enjoy the ambience of being child like once again. Food prices can be steep otherwise it is quite tasty.

Visitors to Urayasu are usually heading to the theme park, which itself offers a number of hotels within its expansive grounds, with some fairly standard options sitting alongside showstopping luxury accommodations. But day trips to the theme park from other districts across the capital remain the done thing by most who visit Urayasu, with the park easily accessible via a number of public transport options. The university district to the northeast of the theme park provides a few hotels, including both budget and mid-range options.
