  • We visited the Chard Farm Winery and loved it - we drink white wines and they were fabulous. We bought the 2016 Sauvignon Blanc. The cellar door has character and the staff were friendly and welcoming...  more »
  • Excellent wines and friendly, welcoming service. The surrounds are picturesque. I always enjoy the boutique, family run wineries over the big companies.  more »
  • Access is along a narrow gravel road, but the views are rewarding! It's a small winery with free parking outside, plenty of space to run and sweeping views across the valley. The tasting room is small...  more »

  • Friendly staff and some great wines. Location is amazing as well. $10 donation (to a local charity) for wine tasting, but if a bottle is purchased then that is void. Seems common among the vineyards.
  • Be careful if you're biking here on a windy day. Once you arrive you'll be delighted by the wine. The tasting is based on donation.
  • Fantastic wines in a truly stunning setting. Possibly the best driveway in the world!
  • Maybe the most picturesque vineyard in all of Aotearoa, and beautiful wines to match.
  • Amazing wine. Wonderful and friendly staff! We purchased a few bottles from here

Where to stay in Queenstown

To enjoy views of Lake Wakatipu in a luxury setting, try one of the many boutique and long-established hotels of the downtown area. As a resort town, Queenstown also offers a range of more modest accommodations, ideal for adventurers, backpackers, and those eager to spend more time outside than in. These come in the form of hostels, rental apartments, campsites, and suburban motels. A good local bus service provides connections between the downtown and suburban areas, and out to the surrounding attractions, and many accommodations offer package tours.
