Fear Factory Queenstown, Queenstown

#2 of 16 in Fun & Games in Queenstown
Summon your courage and take a tour of the haunted hallways and rooms at Fear Factory Queenstown. One step inside the dark, creepy corridors is bound to send a chill down even a skeptic's spine, and by the end of the tour your throat might be sore from screaming. For those not brave enough to go through with the journey, there's always the option to "chicken out." At that point one of the house's friendlier ghouls will show up and escort you directly to the exit. While this haunted house is generally geared toward mature visitors, those under the age of 15 can come in if accompanied by an adult. Do exercise your best judgment, however, since young children might find the experience a little too frightening. • Fear Factory was just amazing! It's been a highlight in our NZ travels. The rooms/spaces were very well thought out, the staff were really fantastic and very entertaining - overall it was a great experience. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!
  • Came from Australia for our honeymoon - truly a great attraction to Queenstown. We had an absolute blast. The monsters within were absolutely brilliant and even helped us a couple of times when we got lost. Wish I could give more stars. Jake Straat, Australia.

Where to stay in Queenstown

To enjoy views of Lake Wakatipu in a luxury setting, try one of the many boutique and long-established hotels of the downtown area. As a resort town, Queenstown also offers a range of more modest accommodations, ideal for adventurers, backpackers, and those eager to spend more time outside than in. These come in the form of hostels, rental apartments, campsites, and suburban motels. A good local bus service provides connections between the downtown and suburban areas, and out to the surrounding attractions, and many accommodations offer package tours.
