Queenstown Golf Club, Queenstown

4.4
#2 of 21 in Golf in South Island
Come and tee off at historical Queenstown Golf Club. The nearby lake and mountain range provide the backdrop for a round or two on a versatile and challenging golf course. The club caters to non-golfers too, also welcoming walkers and cyclists passing through to stop by at the clubhouse, with its a cafe and bar. There is a wide variety to eat and drink on the menu, including a selection of wines from local vineyards. In addition to the food, the cafe has views overlooking the course. Although we had some funny looks when we pulled up in our motorhome, we had a tremendous experience. The pro shop took great care of us and we were paired with some locals that were fun to be with. Th...  more »

  • Beautiful location, but the greens and fairways aren't in the best shape. Not sure if the views justify the cost.
  • What a gorgeous place for a game of golf! A bit on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. Do not forget the camera!
  • “Majestic views” I love this course, having played here a few times I never take the views for granted, it's a challenging course and if you're not up for a walk you better grab a cart as it is very hilly and demanding, the course has 4 par 5's and 4 par 3's, my favourites are the 4th and the 10th.
  • Good quality food at a reasonable price. Everyone welcome at the golf club cafe. Even in our swimming shorts and t shirts
  • Amazing scenery. I would say one of the best in town!

Where to stay in Queenstown

To enjoy views of Lake Wakatipu in a luxury setting, try one of the many boutique and long-established hotels of the downtown area. As a resort town, Queenstown also offers a range of more modest accommodations, ideal for adventurers, backpackers, and those eager to spend more time outside than in. These come in the form of hostels, rental apartments, campsites, and suburban motels. A good local bus service provides connections between the downtown and suburban areas, and out to the surrounding attractions, and many accommodations offer package tours.
