  • I really do not understand why this place is mentioned so much. It is really no different than visiting an American-suburban Macy's... even had the large families with unruly children to boot! The arc...  more »

  • I popped in to pick up a present and I have to say that I experienced the BEST customer service I have ever encountered. In fact, that is an understatement!! Harrods are always good with their customer service (however some people can be dour and efficient which isn't really inspiring) but this assistant was particularly wonderful. Helpful, beautifully polite (but not obsequious), charming, handsome (let's be honest, that's always a plus point) and knowledgeable as he escorted me to the sections I needed too. I really feel he deserves more than 5 stars. Well done Harrods for employing this superstar!!!
  • Beautiful building, huge layout. Expensive toys for the rich. Food mall great but unless buying a meal from one of the actual restaurants there is no where to sit and eat. Bought some great food and then ended up leaving and returning to our hotel to eat. A small seated eating area would have been nice.
  • Off the charts. This is an amazing place. 5 or so stories of food, apparel, and jewelry. People warned me this was an expensive place. We bought some good and water bottles and found those proceed accordingly. But we didn't buy apparel. Maybe that's where the process change.
  • Gotta check out the food halls people. The food collection is amazing, I recommend the zebra Cronut. Even if you are not into shopping, definitely worth while just going in and check out the pairing on the ceilings. Lots of luxury goods, not my thing, buy have to say they do have a great selection.
  • I visited Harrods as it is one of the iconic places in London, the place is thematic with all the floors following different themes. The brands on display, specially make-up and perfumes were good. I loved the home section as they displayed elegant bed sheets, however the decorative pieces were a horror to look at; expensive and ugly! I definitely recommend giving it a visit to enjoy the ambiance and variety, but I wouldn't shop there as it was very crowded when I visited.

Where to stay in London

Many of London's main attractions are spread out, so nearby public transportation is key. There is no downtown area as such in London, and some of the least expensive hotels have more convenient access to tourist sites than the costlier ones. For a quintessential London experience, consider staying in the West End. This part of town offers excellent theaters, historical sites, and eating and shopping options for every taste. Lodging won’t be cheap, but you’ll have the colorful variety of London life right at your doorstep. Look at Notting Hill or Chelsea for charming and less expensive boutique hotels and B&Bs.
